In Ill Bethisad there is no country called India, still the word India is current as a geographical designation for the subcontinent also known as South Asia, on a par with, e.g., the Balkans or the Caribbean. The subcontinent is divided among several states, the largest of which is Bháraþíj Sámrázj, the former Maráthá Sámrázj. All the European enclaves are tributary to one of the Indian states.
