I was under the impression that inflation was much lower *there* than *here*, due to the use of a silver standard, yet the 1975 price is 1/2 and the 2006 price is 3/6, a threefold increase over 30 years, close to *here*. Certainly the higher value of the currency there suggests that inflation's been much lower! The 2005 price is reasonable, given the accepted approximation of ~$15 for a pound, but the 1975 price should be much closer to the 2005 price Nik 23:46, 11 November 2005 (PST)
