Hay-on-Wye is entirely surrounded by the Kemrese province of Ill Paes, but has been English-speaking since the 13th century.

Father Perry Tratchett, a famous priest and author on theological matters, hails from the kingdom.

The chief export, as well as the chief import, is second-hand books.
