About the currency--why not have the countries enter their own currency union but keep the division system of the rupee of lowland India? That way they have their own currency union but still subdivide their rupees like Indian countries do. Juanmartinvelezlinares 14:22, 18 January 2018 (PST)

if the division is still in the proposal phase, I fully agree with you. If its a legacy issue, a possible explanation is that the number of colonial powers present in the india subcontinent made trade easier that way.--Marc pasquin 21:47, 19 January 2018 (PST)
