This exists *here*, right? It certainly seems like a familiar concept... Juanmartinvelezlinares 07:44, 11 January 2017 (PST)

We have *here* captive imports which basically are cars that are made abroad but are sold by another automaker in another country under a native badge. For example GM created several captive import brands in the US and Canada during the 1990's such as Geo, Asüna and Passport (wonder who still remember these). They sold a variety of japanese and korean-built cars such as the Toyota Corolla/Sprinter, Isuzu Piazza and Daewoo Racer, for example, under the mentioned GM brands. Possibly what I described in my article also happens in some way *here*, at least seems plausible to me.

Nexus is a parody of Lexus while ALFA Lorena concept of being asian owned now was based on asian owning of former and present european car brands: chinese Geely currently owns Volvo, indian Tata owns Jaguar and Land Rover plus the rights to use Daimler and Lanchester badges. Also SAIC, from China, manufactures now MG after they bought the rights from BMW (at the time owner of MG Rover Group). As they weren't able to buy Rover brand name they created Roewe in China... And BAIC, also from China, produces now Shenbao (former SAAB name in China). And we now have the rebirth of Borgward last year which became a subsidiary of Foton, itself a subsidiary of BAIC.--Pedromoderno 21:57, 11 January 2017 (PST)
