Serbian is the official language of Serbia and one of the most commonly spoken languages in the region. It is also every-day spoken and official language in Sanjak, but under a different name: the Sanjaki language (Sanjako-Serbian during CSDS).
Serbian features a number of slightly different dialects. It is traditionally written with the Cyrillic script, but in Sanjak Latin and Arabic scripts are used instead, and in Oltenia Latin script is the norm.
