Once were explorers is a Pakeha (non-maori) film from Aotearoa.
The movie tells the story of a poor english family living in the slums of one of the european concessions and how its members cope with the loss of traditions and culture.
It received critical acclaims both at home and abroad and served as a vehicle for its main actors.
