- THE HAGUE -- A team of Batavian rescue workers and hydraulic engineers have left for Louisianne. Their mission is to help make the city of Nouvelle Orléans inhabitable again as soon as possible. The group, led by prof.dr.ir. Theodorus Looman of the Technical University in Eindhoven, will concentrate its activities mostly on pumping away the water; as a result of Furacano #11, about ninety percent of the city is currently inundated with water from the Gulf of Mexico.
