- Most likely somebody believed that such an unconventional flag based on geographic features and symbolisms of unity (explained in Flag of Pakštuva article now) would be good for representing a fresh new start for the country and the unity of different ethnicities. The flag was not really adopted however until the Chinese ultimatum to give greater powers to locals of African race. As the adoption of new flag and certain laws did not save the country from war it was little used. There have been complex (albeit more conventional) official flags *here* too, such as former Georgia (US state) flag here: http://www.50states.com/flag/image/ga_flag_2001.gif .
