Madzhi
Madzhi is spoken in Oregon, by a community of about 3000 in scattered pockets, but mostly concentrated around Kelowna, Kamloops and Lillooet.
The theory is that the proto-Magyars, when they left the ancient homeland, split into two groups: one that went west to become the Hungarians, and one that went east and eventually wound up in the Lillooet/Shuswap area of *here's* British Columbia. The language is still rather Uralic, but has taken heavy influence from the local native languages, especially Lilloet and Shuswap. (FGV 12196)
