Surely by now there is some closure on whether the three candidate members are in or out. And that largely depends on how Russian history has played out in the years since 2004. I know that Russia *there* has its own Putinesque figure, but my sense is that he has not been as successful at filling in Russia's old geopolitical footprint. I think that Petrograd-Novgorod likely is a full member by now; that would nicely represent Russia's challenges. I can't say as to Belarus and Ukraine. Do they have anti-Western movments like those *here* that would block their membership? Benkarnell 08:22, 18 April 2020 (PDT)
