Obviously, part and parcel with this proposal is the idea that the NAL did indeed have Prohibition. The limits, interestingly, are identical to those of Prohibition *here* so there are a bunch of loopholes. One suspects that the major source of smuggled alcholic products would be Louisianne and that maybe organized crime might (I say might) in the NAL tend to be rather French rather than Italian as it was in the USA (at least for a time).
